As of the end of June, 2010, the contractor has completed most of the renovation and construction of the historical building, new addition and new gym and the final punch-list items (construction to-do tasks to be completed) are being addressed. Commissioning (the systematic and documented process of ensuring that the building systems perform efficiently and building operators are properly trained) is underway. Fire inspections also are also underway.
In the new Commons, final finishes were completed with the exception of the paneling at the new stage and the new kitchen equipment has been installed. The band, orchestra and multi-purpose rooms are complete barring final installation of the climbing wall in the multi-purpose room. All casework installation throughout the buildings is complete and final wood trim installation is nearing completion.
On the site, final sidewalks and curb cuts at 42nd and Densmore are underway. At the Wallingford Park interface, the grading work is nearing completion as is all remaining landscaping. The playground rails are in fabrication. Last month, the Hamilton staff also began to pack up at the interim Lincoln site.
This month, July 2010, the contractor will complete all construction of the buildings and landscaping and address any remaining items on the final punch list. Inspections and testing of the fire alarm system and inspection of the elevator will be completed and commissioning of the mechanical system will also be completed.
Hamilton Staff will complete packing up and moving out of the interim Lincoln building into moving trailers, with the move back into the newly completed Hamilton school to be completed later this summer.
