ASB

Associated Student Body (ASB)

ASB is the student-led government at HIMS. The ASB officers are: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, 7th Grade Senator and 6th Grade Senator. A HIMS teacher is the ASB advisor. For the 2009-10 school year, the ASB Advisor is Robin Smith (rllambert@seattleschools.org).
ASB activities include the following:
School Dances – There are three or four school dances during the year. The dances are after school, from 2:45 to 4:15 PM. Tickets cost $2.00 to $3.00. Students going to the dance must sign in, and then stay until they leave the dance. If students stay for the dance, the school does not provide a bus ride home.
Service Projects – ASB sponsors community service projects providing clothing and personal items for homeless teens, raising money for the International Heifer Program (providing farm animals to families in developing countries), etc.
